Keun Sik Ko
Keun Sik Ko (Koko) was born in 1958 in Incheon, South-Korea. His inspiration originates from his interest in Buddhism.
His paintings render the refinement of the smile of Buddha statues and thus express the beauty of the human mind. By focusing exclusively on facial expressions, the artist seeks to convey his view of the deeper inner significance of the Buddha sculptures to the observer. His paintings express the calm and mysticism of the Zen philosophy, and with his different perspectives on Buddha likenesses the artist presents us glimpses into this world. The artist has visited himself most of the Buddha statues he has painted.
Keun Sik Ko is currently working in Hoofddorp.
